AJ Dybantsa's 3-point shooting has been a topic of much discussion and scrutiny in the lead-up to the NBA Draft. While some have criticized his performance in a viral video showing him missing his first four 3-point attempts, I believe this is an overreaction and a missed opportunity to appreciate the full scope of his talent. In my opinion, Dybantsa's ability to score without relying heavily on 3-pointers is what makes him such a tantalizing prospect. He averaged 25.5 points per game at BYU, with only 33% of those points coming from 3-pointers. This is not an elite percentage, but it is also not a cause for concern. What's more, Dybantsa's 3-point shooting is not his only strength. He is an athletic workhorse who can score from anywhere on the court, and his ability to make tough shots in college is encouraging. I believe that with NBA coaching and experience, he can improve his 3-point shooting and become a valuable scoring weapon at the next level. In fact, I think his ceiling is much higher than that of a typical perimeter player. Personally, I think Dybantsa's future is bright, and I am excited to see how he develops in the NBA. While his 3-point shooting may not be perfect, I believe that he has the potential to become a dynamic offensive engine for a contender, and I am confident that he will continue to improve and succeed at the highest level.
